S.A.R. Honors Perry County's Finest

Some of Perry County's finest were honored by the Sons of the American Revolution Saturday.

Crooksville Fire Chief, Ralph Hill, New Lexington Fire Chief Scott Ervin and Perry County Sheriff's Deputy Brent Tysinger were honored with Commendation Medals for their work in fire safety and law enforcement.

Keith Kaufman of Hocking Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution said honoring these local heroes is what his organization is all about.

"It kind of fits really well with the Sons of the American Revolution. This is a special night and I'm glad I could be here, and we're going to have a really nice ceremony tonight," said Kaufman.

Perry County Sheriff Randy Barker, who presented Brent Tysinger with his medal, spoke highly of the deputy who has served under him for over 15 years.

"If ever employer had employees that were as faithful and as dedicated to their jobs as he is, we'd all have a very good staff," said Barker.

The awards ceremony took place at the Peerless Lodge in Crooksville.
