The Director of Muskingum County Community Development delivered updates on grant projects Monday.
Sheila Samson spoke to the County Commissioners about those grant projects and how they could be used within the county to fund local projects.
"For this year, we have Meigs Township to assist with their community building, We have the village of South Zanesville, which is for street improvement, and the city of Dresden was for various street paving," said Samson.
A formula allocation grant the county has received in recent years saw a drop of 12.8% of funds being dispersed.
Samson said with tighter budgets it's important for local governments to help smaller townships, villages and cities with project funding.
"They're government dollars are scarce, as well, just as much as ours are starting to get cut also, so it's very important to them," added Samson.
Samson also updated commissioners on grant money for the new Muskingum County Business Incubator.
