One local group is helping individuals find money for their organizations through grant writing.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation is hosting a special seminar on Tuesday, June 26th to help individuals or non-profit groups interested in learning about locating and pursuing grant funding. Community Foundation Educational Consultant Terry Kopchak will lead the "Grantseeking Basics" presentation.
"It's going to get into to get into a lot of the introductory concepts and steps for trying to find money from grant makers and different sources that are available, not only in our community but nationwide," said Kopchak.
The seminar will focus on the resources the foundation center has to offer, including an online database which Kopchak says is the quickest and most efficient way to find grant money. Kopchak says school officials and college students could also benefit from learning the steps in the grant making process as well as non-profit organizations.
"Anybody that's either in a non-profit organization or trying to find some money for their organization or maybe somebody that's just getting started as a non-profit and want to outline the steps that they need to take to secure some money," said Kopchak.
The meeting will take place at the foundation on Putnam Avenue. It is free and open to the public, although space is limited to twenty-five participants. You may register by contacting the community foundation center by phone, (740) 453-5192 or by e-mail, firstname.lastname@example.org.
