Zanesville Daybreak Rotary is working to inspire a new generation of Rotarians.
A new charter was presented to Rotaract members at the Zane State/Ohio University Zanesville Campus Wednesday.
District Chairman Tom Carlisi said there are 10 Rotaract clubs in the district, including Zane State and OU-Z.
He said there are over 1,000,000 Rotarians looking to make a difference both locally and around the world.
"We have a deep, deep commitment to the next generation because these are our future leaders," Said Carlisi. "There's about 700 clubs here and what makes a difference is when you get into Rotaract, you actually are involved in a Rotary community."
A representative from Rotaract District 6690 presented the group with their charter.
Rotaract Committee Chair Barbara Gibbs said the students involved have been working hard on various community projects and are looking forward to establishing themselves in the careers they choose while in college.
"They have a lot of the same interests," said Gibbs. "They're interested in doing things for the community, service projects and also they're very interested in networking with professionals and learning more about their careers. It's a lot about career development also."
Those age 18-30 interested in joining should contact Gibbs at the Zanesville Daybreak Rotary.
