No Injuries in Newton Township Trailer Fire

A trailer fire Tuesday evening in Newton Township brought out crews from multiple fire departments.

It happened at the Colonial Place Trailer Park at 2870 Maysville Pike just after 8 p.m.

Neighbors watched on as fire crews from Newton Township, Roseville and South Zanesville extinguished the blaze.

Newton Township Battalion Chief Craig Knox said when crews arrived on the scene, they found fire and heavy smoke billowing out of the residence.

There was one occupant home at the time the fire started, he did escape without injury, the cause of the fire is still being investigated," said Knox.

Two rooms in the trailer suffered extensive damage, but Knox said the trailer is not being deemed a total loss.

"There is some water and smoke damage throughout the majority of the residence," added Knox.  "Contents-wise, they did not lose all their possessions, they were able to save some of their possessions."

Knox said no other homes suffered damage from the fire.
