Trees purchased at Zanesville High School will go to help the newest alumni.

Thursday in the courtyard at ZHS plaques were unveiled in front of 15 trees purchased by former graduating classes.

The proceeds go toward the Zanesville Alumni Association scholarship fund. This year $1,000 scholarships were awarded to three graduates of the class of 2012- Caitlin Coulson, Payton Norris and Justine Stewart.

The group is hoping to complete a second phase of tree sales this fall and the project will continue until all the trees have been sold. They are only available for purchase to classes that have graduated from ZHS.
