Several Muskingum County roadways will soon see repairs.
The commissioners opened bids today for resurfacing roads in Union Township and the resurfacing of John Glenn School Road. The pressure is on to finish the road before school starts.
"There's a completion date of August 17th, which is the week before school is in session. With all the activity there, the Middle School, you've got the High School there, we'd like to see it finished that's why we put the completion date of August 17th," said Matt Russell of the Muskingum County Engineer's Office.
The bids should be decided on today so the project can get underway as soon as possible. Due to the type of project and the high traffic area, the road will not be closed completely during the resurfacing.
"It will probably be one lane at a time. If there's a closure, we would notify everyone but it's not a full road closure for something like that," said Russell.
Once the decision has been made and the contractors have been notified, the project will begin.
