The Salvation Army is helping kids go back to school in style.
Today the organization held a children's clothing giveaway. Office Coordinator Mindy McCloy said volunteers sort through the donations to put the best items on the tables.
"It took three days to prepare, so we had a huge amount of volunteers that came in to help set up, and now they're here helping the families go through the clothing room and helping them check in and check out," said McCloy.
McCloy said it was another successful year for the giveaway. Each child was able to take home several new outfits as well as shoes, accessories and school supplies.
"It's so fun to watch the children," said McCloy. "A lot of parents will bring them, and they get to help pick their clothes out. They get very excited."
If your child still needs back-to-school clothes, you can stop by the Putnam Avenue location on Thursdays and Fridays from 9 a.m. until noon. Be sure to bring a photo ID and your child's social security card.
