Preparations are well underway for the 166th Muskingum County Fair.
Amusements rides and booths were being set up this morning at the fairgrounds on Pershing Road.
Fair Board President Darrel Cubbison said there will be lots of new exhibits and attractions as well as food and local entertainment for fair-goers to enjoy when they come through the gates Sunday.
"We've got all the commodity groups that are going to have a booth here, meaning, corn, beef, and dairy and all of those sorts of things, that's brand new," said Cubbison. "We've got a new trailer coming in for the Soil & Water to display for learning for the kids and adults, as well."
The main attraction at this year's fair will be a concert by Kelly Pickler of "American Idol" fame.
Last year over 36,000 people attended the blue ribbon fair, and Cubbison hopes the one price admission will bring in more people than years past.
"There able to come out here with free parking, free rides, free circus, all the shows, except for Kelly and her red high heels, right here at the blue ribbon fair," exclaimed Cubbison.
Sunday's activities kick off with a Veteran's day celebration, a church service, and harness racing.
WHIZ will feature radio reports from the fair as well as a nightly half-hour show highlighting the fair's activities, starting Monday night at 7 p.m. on WHIZ-TV.
