Secretary of State Jon Husted is putting all 88 Ohio counties on the same early voting election schedule.
Muskingum County Board of Elections Director Chris Hamill said the office will be open an additional 46 hours from October 2 to November 2.
"We will of course have to work later, and it will cost the office approximately an additional $7,000," said Hamill.
The county will be responsible for picking up the tab. Hamill said she expects voters to take advantage of the extra time to vote.
"It'll probably help the voter in the sense that maybe they can get here after hours from working," said Hamill.
Voters can also begin mailing in absentee ballots on October 2. Those applications will be mailed to all of Ohio's registered voters starting after Labor Day. If you have any questions, you can call the Muskingum County Board of Elections at (740) 455-7120.
