A sharp rise in gas prices last week has Ohio motorists paying more as the new work week beings. The average price for a gallon of regular gas is $3.85 in Tuesday’s survey from Auto Club AAA. That is about 11 cents more than a week ago. But here in Zanesville gas is selling for $3.75 a gallon along Maple Avenue. Ohio motorists has been continuously rises prices this summer, and hurricane Isaac’s swamping of the nation’s oil and gas hub along the gulf coast last week gave prices another bump. The average price in Ohio is about 16 cents more than a year ago. Nationally, the average price for regular gas is about $3.82 – 6 cents higher than last week.
