Tractor Show Informs and Entertains Visitors

People in Adamsville had a chance to look at some antique farm equipment this weekend.

The Old Steam and Gas Club's 48th annual tractor show was held at Gaumer Park.

Club President Tom Rollins said the organization has been in existence since 1959 and serves to keep agricultural history alive and educate future generations of farmers.

"This is what our fathers and forefathers had to work with, rather than this electronic and computerized stuff," said Rollins.  "So we think that we do an awful lot in that area and we're going to try to continue that tradition."

The annual tractor show featured farm equipment between 50 and 100 years old.

Farmers demonstrated various techniques of bailing hay through the years.

Rollins said the club also raises money to give back to community organizations including local fire departments.

"Each year we like to select a different organization to put this money back into the community that we can generate," Rollins said. "That way, we're helping in more ways than one.

The club is holding a garden tractor pull at the Coshocton County Fair on Wednesday at 9 a.m.
