A young child undergoing a serious medical issue needs the communities support.
Graham Sowers was diagnosed at six weeks old with a Grade IV Neuroblastoma. It is the most common solid tumor in children younger than 1-year-old.
"He's one of the cutest most upbeat babies you would ever know," said event organizer Megan Mortimer. "You would have no idea he's even going through all this. He's currently undergoing six weeks of chemotherapy and then he's going to have a stem cell transplant."
To help raise money for his treatment friends and family will hold a 5k run, walk and kids fun run at Vista Golf Course, Saturday October 13. The event is in coordination with Graham's father's 15 year high school reunion from West Muskingum.
"There's not a whole lot you can do in a situation like this and we thought to help defray medial costs and to have a fundraiser like this would get the communities support and all of his old classmates support," said Mortimer.
Registration will begin at 7a.m. Saturday morning. A poker run will follow at Bogey's Bar and Grill. Last year $15,000 was raised for the Sower's family.
