The super bowl is coming early to Zanesville.
The 16th annual "Souper Bowl" will take place this Sunday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Muskingum County Center for Seniors. Christ's Table's Executive Director is sure this year will attract as many, if not more people than it has in the past.
"It's a good place to come over church and have lunch. We'll have four different kinds of soup here, we'll have sandwiches, hot dogs, sloppy Joes and there's that never endless plate of cookies that are on the table that are all homemade by the church people," said Keely Warden.
This year's proceeds will benefit eastside community ministry, the Muskingum county center for seniors, the salvation army, the fellowship of Christ's community as well as Christ's table.
"We want to remind the community a big thank you for coming out and helping because over $133,000 dollars in the last sixteen years has been invested back into this community because of the Souper Bowl," said Warden.
Tickets are five dollars prior to Sunday, six at the door. Children are four dollars a piece. Carry-out is also available for those who are unable to stay and eat. Warden says if you do head out on Sunday, don't let the long line scare you-everyone will be served a bowl of soup.
