Ohio Elections Chief says more than 800,000 people have already cast ballots during early voting with two weeks to go until Election Day.
Between mailed out ballots and in-person voting, a little over 11,000 people have cast their vote in Muskingum County. The Board of Elections expected the high numbers.
"Due to the Secretary of State mailed out the applications earlier and that did make an increase," said Board of Elections Director Chris Hamill.
The secretary of state also lengthened the early voting window for the state.
"We have extended our in-person voting and you can come in on Saturday, November the 3rd between the hours of 8 and 2, you can come in Sunday, November the 4th between the hours of 1 and 5 and also again on Monday, November the 5th between the hours of 8 and 2," said Hamill.
So far the Board of Elections has not experienced any problems with early voting and Hamill expects it to continue running smoothly.
