Muskingum County is making it easier for families when the time comes to care for parents.
Northside Pharmacy and Muskingum County Center for Seniors presented the Family Caregivers Resource Fair today. The fair provided answers to questions families may have about caring for their parents.
"We know there's a lot of resources out there that can help people in that particular situation and we thought why not do something for the community that would allow people a one-stop shop where they can stop and get tons of information but only going to one place," said co-coordinator, Valerie Wears.
Around 20 local businesses attended including Genesis Healthcare, home health agencies and a law office. All the organizations were on hand to make the transition period easier for families.
"We're seeing a lot more people in our community taking on the responsibility of caring for their parents, kind of reversing the role of caretakers so it is becoming more and more common people are doing it more and more so we just thought it would be nice if we could offer those people some information to help them out."
