WHIZ-TV hosted another forum Wednesday featuring the two candidates running for the other available Muskingum County Commissioner seat.

Incumbent Jerry Lavy and challenger Eddie Brock participated in the forum. With all the hype surrounding shale development, the oil and gas industry was a hot topic. Lavy says it could be another year and a half before we see the boom in our area.

"It's going to happen." said Lavy "I think with Halliburton being here, obviously they know something more than what we're hearing. For them to establish their facility here, I think it's a good plus in our pocket that something is going to happen."

Brock says regardless of whether the industry is a boom or a bust, Muskingum county will benefit from the drilling.

"I think the benefit, whether we drill one well in Muskingum county or no wells, we're going to benefit from the boom from surrounding counties." said Brock.

WHIZ-TV will broadcast a debate between U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown and challenger Josh Mandel Thursday at 7 p.m..
