State Treasurer Josh Mandel was in attendance at Saturday's Paul Ryan rally in Zanesville. Mandel, who is running against incumbent Sherrod Brown for the U.S. Senator seat, says his plans in Washington include job creation.
"I believe that we need to do everything we can to grow more manufacturing jobs for the blue collar men and women who operate machines, for the folks who are working as secretaries and janitors." said Mandel. "I really think manufacturing is another component of economic growth."
As for Southeastern Ohio, Mandel has high hopes.
"Muskingum county has all of it." he said. "Energy, manufacturing, and agriculture. I think Muskingum county and Eastern Ohio can help lead economic recovery for the rest of the state."
Mandel promises not to be pushed around in Washington is he's elected. He says the 11.5 million people living in the state of Ohio are the people he will answer to.
