Thanksgiving at Christ's Table

This Thanksgiving, Christ's Table is making sure no one goes hungry.

From 10:30 until 12:30 Thursday the soup kitchen will feed around 150 people a free home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner. Thanks to volunteers another 200 meals will be home delivered.

"We definitely want to give a shout-out to our local Jaycee's because we do deliver our homebound meals on Thanksgiving Day and that's all done by volunteers Monday through Friday so the Jaycee's come in on Thanksgiving and take over for us and let our volunteers be home with their families so we want to thank our local Jaycees for coming out and helping us with our home deliveries for tomorrow," said Christ's Table Executive Director, Keely Warden.

Despite the rush of the holiday, Thanksgiving is one of the slower days at Christ's Table which is a good thing Warden says because it means some of the people that serve are able to spend time with family.

"So it's a little bit more peaceful tomorrow it'll be just those that don't have any place to be and don't want to sit home alone so tomorrow it'll be a little bit quieter for us and it'll just give us more time to sit and talk with every body like you should on thanksgiving," said Warden.

Warden says the schedule to help serve Thursday is full but volunteers are still needed for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
