A Christmas tradition is returning again this year.
The Avondale Youth Center will hold its fourth annual Olde Fashioned Christmas Celebration Saturday 5 to 8 p-m. The free event has become a tradition for many families to start their holiday festivities.
"We're going to have carriage rides, we're going to have face painting, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be here at 5 o'clock and so the kids will get their wish list together," said Avondale Director, Nathaniel Norris.
There will also be hot chocolate, donuts and cookies available. The celebration marks the beginning of the Avondale Fund Campaign, which provides more than just Christmas gifts for children.
"It's used all year round for things that ordinarily kids that the state doesn't buy or the government doesn't buy like birthday presents, prom dresses, sports events, if someone's going to play basketball or football , any kind of sport."
The Avondale Youth enter is located on Roseville Road. For more information, you can call the center or go online.
