A fallen member of the New Lexington Emergency Medicine Service will be honored, Saturday.
Chief of the New Lexington EMS Dave Nutter passed away at the age of 54 this August. The annual EMS Conference will be held in his memory and a plaque presented to his widow.
"No words were kind enough to memorialize Dave's memory," said EMS CQI Coordinator for Genesis. "We wanted to have a gathering in his honor."
Organizers said it's important for EMS to be trained because they are the first line of treatment and medicine is always evolving.
"It's as important as wanting your nurse to be up to date and wanting your doctor to be up to date it is a continuum of care from the first responder, through diffinitive treatment in the hospital," said John Zimmerman medical director for emergency medicine at Genesis.
The EMS Conference will take place at the Genesis Healthplex registration begins at 7p.m. with the first speaker at 8p.m.
