The Salvation Army needs your help this holiday season.
The toy drive, Red Kettle Campaign and canned food donations are drastically down this year. The Salvation Army says without those donations many families may go without this year.
"Were looking at doing two-thousand baskets so were looking for anybody that wants to donate chickens to fill out for the family for meat and we do have some canned goods and that available as well but it just seems like were getting crunch time," said Major Diane Campbell.
The Salvation Army also needs to provide enough toys for 1,200 children and so far they have only received enough to fulfill the needs of 158. They're hoping a toy drive this weekend will make a difference.
"Saturday, Wal-Mart is having a fill a truck day from 9 to 5 and that's a great way for them to maybe go shopping at Wal-Mart and stick one or two toys in a toy bin that will be provided there for us and were hoping that's going to help fill that toy room," said Mindy McCloy.
Those interested in helping have until December 14th to donate. Volunteers are also needed to help distribute food baskets on the 20th.
