The Muskingum and Licking  County Sheriff’s Offices have issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency.  That Means Roads are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow.  Drive cautiously.

The first day of winter arrived with authority Friday in Zanesville and the rest of Ohio.  There was a rash of accidents including a two vehicle crash on Dresden Road at Military Road just before 9:30 Friday morning. Zanesville Police says a Jeep was traveling north on Dresden road and slid into the path of a GMC Envoy.  The driver of the Jeep and two people in the Envoy were taken to the hospital for treatment.

The Ohio Department of Transportation is concerned since high winds will blow snow over treated roadways and may cause refreezing.  Take you time if you are going to be driving today.
