The Muskingum County Juvenile Detention Facility seeks funds for personnel.

The Supervisor of the Juvenile Detention Center went before commissioners to ask for $12,000 more in order to pay for a nurse. The salary for the nurse is over $64,000.

"We kind of had some unexpected things with a contract that ended up being a little more than we thought it was going to be," explained Allen Bennett the supervisor of juvenile detention.

Bennett said they contract the nurse through the Muskingum County Health Department and in the future may look elsewhere.

"It's the law that we have to have a nurse in our facility and obviously to tend to the kids medical needs when they are in the facility," said Bennett.

The Juvenile Detention Center has a capacity of 48 and on average houses around 30 people a day.
