There will be a double feature during this First Friday Art Walk at the ZAAP Gallery.
The popular downtown location will showcase artists Nancy Holland and Gina Bowman Friday night. Holland started painting at seven years old while Bowman didn't begin until three months ago. Although their work is different, they hope their art will create similar feelings within the audience.
"Her and I both feel that when you do art you should tell a story with your art and that people should feel emotion when they look at the paintings," said ZAAP Featured Artist, Gina Bowman.
Holland mostly paints landscapes while Bowman creates whimsical paintings that she says don't go by the rules. For those coming out to see the art Friday night, Bowman hopes they will be inspired to begin making their own artwork.
"Maybe they think they can't paint but you could be surprised, you might not be a painter but you can write poetry maybe a painting will inspire you to write a poem or take photographs or who know what you might be inspired to do from that," said Bowman.
The show will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the ZAAP Gallery located at 625 Main Street in Zanesville.
