The Muskingum County Community Foundation is ready for their annual Groundhog Day Celebration and Auction.
The event will take place from 5 until 9 p.m. at the OU-Z/Zane State Campus Center. This is the 28th year for the auction so tickets are 28 dollars. Everything earned will go toward the foundation's grant fund.
"All the proceeds from the evening's event go out in Grant competition so that charities from art groups to any other, animal groups whatever groups compete for these funds we earn," said Muskingum County Community Foundation Executive Director, David Mitzel.
A new item was created for this year's auction. A limited supply of "Gateway to Zanesville" t-shirts will be available for purchase.
"Thought that it would be a lot of fun to have t-shirts made with Pittsburgh, Columbus, Cleveland and Cinncinatti-gateway to Zanesville. Of course we had to put a little groundhog logo as well," said Mitzel.
There will be an opportunity to purchase a golden ticket that if chosen will win any live auction item, there will also be a raffle for an i-Pad mini and a television. About four hundred people attend every year.
