While many gorge themselves before the Lenten season begins, one restaurant is already thinking about the season leading up to Easter.
Fish Mcbites are the latest menu item offered at McDonald's Restaurants. The operations supervisor said these crunchy snack items will be popular because many people turn to fish during Lent and it's a nice alternative.
"It's something different to the menu. Fish is a good choice for people to snack on or a different alternative to beef and chicken. It's just one more menu addition that we can have for our customers," said Operations Supervisor Chad Lawson. "
For the next three days the snack size version of the Fish Mcbites are just $1.00. Lawson hopes that people enjoy it, if even for a short time.
"I hope it goes well. I hope the customers really enjoy it," said Lawson. "It is here only for a limited time like many of our products they kind of come for a brief time and go away. It's not something we're going to have forever. It's a good product to come in and try."
The Mcbites are made out of 100 percent pure Alaskan Pollack. Lawson said so far customers have been positive about the new menu item.
