A former 7th grade Tri-Valley math teacher was arraigned in Muskingum County Common Please Court.  Michele Gross pleaded not guilty to one count of perjury and six counts of furnishing alcohol to underage persons.  Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox says Gross faces the perjury charged in connection with grand jury testimony in a hearing involving her husband, Matthew, who was indicted on rape charges.  He is expected to go to trial later this month after his first trial ended in a hung jury.  Haddox says Mrs. Gross’ other charges are the result of an incident in June of 2012.  If convicted Mrs. Gross faces three years in prison.  Judge Kelly Cottrill sent Gross’s bond at 25-thousand dollars and she posted it.
Tri-Valley Superintendent Mark Neal says Mrs. Gross resigned her job earlier this month.  She had been with the district since 1998.
