Church Stabbing Suspect in Custody

A Zanesville man is in custody in connection to a stabbing incident at a church.

Muskingum County Prosecutor Mike Haddox said 25-year-old Kerron Brantley is facing up to 16 years in prison if convicted.  He's charged with one count each of attempted murder, felonious assault, breaking and entering, possession of criminal tools and tampering with evidence.

Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz said it happened Wednesday at 1930 Newark Road at the First Church of God.  The victim was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  No other details are available at this time.
