The Muskingum County Sheriff's office says that one man is in custody tonight. Captain Jeff LeCocq says deputies responded to an altercation between a male and a female after multiple 911 calls were received by dispatchers.
"It was shortly after 8 this morning the Sheriff's officer started receiving 911 calls reporting yelling and screaming in the area of 165 Sundale Road out in Norwich," Captain LeCocq said.
Captain LeCocq says the suspect fled on foot and was later tracked by a K-9 unit to a wooded area off of South Moose Eye Road. He was arrested and taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. The victim was also transported to the hospital and is in stable condition.
"The first responding officers did find an adult female who had been cut during an altercation with an adult male. The male fled on foot and a K-9 unit was deployed and we set up a perimeter and it took just a little over an hour, but we did find the subject," LeCocq said.
The name of the victim is not being released at this time. Captain LeCocq says that no formal charges have been filed against the suspect.
