The firefighters in Adamsville celebrate and honor the Memorial Day holiday with an annual fish fry.
The fry is the largest fundraiser for the Adamsville Fire Department, bringing in hundreds of people from all over the area and then some.
"It's from around the area, the people that have lived here in the past and I talked to a family that comes here every year from Marietta, they meet up here and have a little reunion,” said Chief David Wortman.
The department was packed since 11 am this morning and at times the line was clear out the door with people enjoying the plates of coleslaw, potato salad, green beans, pie for dessert, and of course lots of ocean perch.
"We will fry today 150 pounds of fish, money wise it could raise before expenses 6 or 7 thousand."
The Adamsville Fire Department has been flawlessly hosting this fish fry for more than fifty years and they begin preparing months in advance for the special day.
