Despite the rainy weather a local swimming pool opened their doors for the summer.
Monday was the opening day for the Dresden Swim Center. Manager, Samantha Mizer says today was nothing like last year's opening.
"Very very different, last year we had a record breaking day this year it's very very slow we've only sold a couple memberships and a couple daily rates, " said Mizer.
Mizer says that the lack of people had an impact on business, but she hopes in the next few weeks as the weather warms up they will make up for the loss. Mizer also wants to remind those coming to pool when the weather does improve to be prepared to swim safe.
"Always drink plenty of water, always use sunscreen SPF 15 or higher and be sure to stay in the shade, " said Mizer.
Mizer says you can buy a summer membership or get a daily pass for six dollars. For more information you can visit their Facebook page or call the swim center by phone. The swim season for the Dresden Swim Center lasts from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
