Student Charged With Felonious Assault

A Crooksville high school student is being held in the Multi-County Juvenile Detention Center in Lancaster after being charged in connection with a fight. Perry County Common Pleas Judge Luann Cooperrider says the student – accused of assaulting another student at the school is charged with one count of felonious assault and entered a plea of denial, which in juvenile court is similar to a not guilty plea. A pre-trial hearing is set for June 26th and a trial on August 13th. Crooksville Police are investigating the incident that happened May 10th at Crooksville High School. The victim is receiving treatment for her injuries at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus. Judge Cooperrider says names are not being released since it involves juveniles.
