It's that time of year again and Zanesville fire fighters need your help filling the boot to raise money for people diagnosed with neuromuscular diseases.
"Last Saturday we were at Bell Street and made about $4,100 which is about half of what we normally make because we're normally on Bell and Maple but we're just going to be on the side streets this year and instead of Friday and Saturday, we're doing three consecutive Saturday's," said John Fisk, a firefighter with the Zanesville Fire Department.
Fisk says since the fire department won't be on the usual busy Maple Avenue, they really need the community's support and says he hopes they come out to give their spare change.
"Tomorrow we'll be on Zane Street. Saturday, June 15th, we'll be on Military Road so we encourage everybody to come out and when you see us out there with the boots, anything you have, your change, your bills, whatever, we'll take anything."
All of the money raised goes to the Muscular Dystrophy Association which provides summer camps for kids diagnosed with neuromuscular diseases, treatments and research.
