An appeal by Muskingum County Prosecutors Office to not retry a woman convicted of drowning her two young sons is denied by the Ohio Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court sided with an appeals court to allow the retrial of 27-year-old Kasey Klein. The State Appeals Court ruled in January that the Muskingum County Common Pleas Court wrongly denied a defense effort to have Kasey and her husband Richard Klein Junior's case tried separately.

The Klein's each were convicted of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment and sentenced to 12 years in prison. Her sons, ages 3 and 2 drowned in the Muskingum River during a 2011 campout.

Kasey Klein is scheduled to go on trial next month while Richard Klein's trila is scheduled for next week.
