A golfing camp for children is providing the participants with skills on the course as well as in life.
This is the third year of the Junior Golf Camp at Vista Golf Course. The camp runs about a week and for two hours a day the kids work on a variety of skills.
"Kids learn to put and chip and were also learning the nine core values which we borrowed from the first tee program, " said Pro Teacher, Mick Ihlenfeld.
Some of the values learned includes respect, sportsmanship and integrity. Junior Golfer, Kaleb Ihlenfeld says he hopes to use some of these skills in the future.
"If I could ..If I develop better I would want to make it on to the TV. to the PGA's and stuff like that, " said Kaleb.
There were about sixty children in the program this year. The kids received lunch, prizes and a t-shirt to remember their experience at the Junior Golf Camp. The volunteers say it's amazing to see the progress the children make from the beginning to the end of camp. Tomorrow is the last day and the student golfers will hit the course to play 4 or 5 holes.
