The Salvation Army is bringing a tradition usually saved for the holiday season out during the month of July.
The Salvation Army's new fundraising opportunity, Red Kettles in July is going on every Friday.
"Well everybody sees the red kettles at Christmas time right because we're bringing in money for Christmas. Now were bringing in money for anything the salvation needs, " said Shelter Aid, Terina Saxton.
The Salvation Army says they need money for clothes, food and general living expenses. Saxton says that funding for Muskingum County has been cut, but the organization is busier than ever and needs more money to run efficiently throughout the year.
" Wednesday we had 88 people in our soup kitchen and that is the first of the month so that tells you how great it is.. The need is great, " said Saxton.
If you are interested in giving to the Salvation Army the red kettles will be out at both Riesbeck's locations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays for the month of July.
