The sunny weather is a welcomed relief for some members of the YMCA Day Camp.
The camp started just after Memorial Day and runs until mid August. Since the beginning, the camp has had to change its plans to deal with ongoing rainy weather.
"If it rains too hard we usually come inside and we do board games, crafts and sometimes we put in the movie. The kids don't like being inside it definitely puts a damper on us," said Day Camp Site Director, Trevor Tom.
Tom says that the weather on Friday made up for the bad weather they saw earlier in the week.
"Today's a good day we've been outside all day. We did some fun stuff this morning, some relay races and stuff and then we spent two hours at the pool. It's been a good Friday," said Tom.
the campers range from kindergarten age children to incoming 8th graders. The older kids perform community service and work on their computer skills while the younger campers play games and complete arts and crafts projects. Tom says it is not too late to sign up for the "Y" day camp.
