The Ohio School Facilities Commission has approved over 14.5 million dollars in funding for the West Muskingum School district. It is one of 19 from across Ohio that received an offer of funding from the commissioner which oversees the state’s school renovation and construction program. The money, combined with 22.8 million dollars from the district will allow it to move forward with construction of a new elementary school. Commission Executive Director Richard Hickman says this is a critical step in ensuring that the children in the West Muskingum District are in facilities that help support academic achievement.
