Anyone who loves the sounds of the twenties or enjoys live large music ensembles- there is a perfect event for you this weekend.
The Schubach Big Band second annual concert is this Sunday and will include a traditional 17 piece band, with a contemporary twist. Plus, local vocalist, Julie whetstone and her son.
"We had been playing for parties, New Year's Eve, things around town and we decided to do something just as a gift to the community, to help do our part to keep big bands music alive in southeastern Ohio," said David Schubach
Schubach says last year's concert was hugely successful, with more than 200 people in attendance, that were dancing in the park to the lively music.
"It is a music we love, starting with our parents generation but we're continuing it with a seventeen piece big band, which a traditional setting, and like I say we have original arrangements from the Glen Miller Tunes. And it's just a terrifically exciting and it's surprising to us how much young people also love it as well as the people that heard this music the first time around."
The concert is a free gift to the public at Zane's Landing Park on the River from 7 to 9 pm.
