Changes In Water Bill Distribution

The City of Zanesville wants customers to know there will be changes in the way water bills are distributed.

Water bills usually come every two months, but the city is now switching over to a single month model . The city includes six divisions and depending on where you live you can start to see changes in the format and frequency of the bill starting any where from August 26th to October 15th.

"We're going to send this first one out to district three on Monday. It will be a two month bill then we are going to transition at the end of August to a single month bill, and then we'll follow up with districts four, five, and six in September, and then district one and two in October," said Public Service Director, Mike Sims.

If you are unsure about which district you are in you can check by looking at the account number on the bill. The first number of the account will be the district that you reside in.In addition to switching to single month billing the format of the bill will also appear different to recipients.

" We're not going to be sending bill cards like the post card any longer. We're going to be sending billing statements that will be put in an envelope with a window to the addressee, and they need to be sure they don't throw that away not understanding that it's their bill, " said Sims.

Sims says there's one thing he wants to make clear...Everyone who gets a new bill will notice that it's for two months of service. After that you will be billed one month at a time.
