Volunteers at North Terrace Church of Christ keep busy preparing for a huge even taking place Saturday.
Tables filled with items including clothing, shoes and electronics will be given away during the Free Stuff Giveaway. This is the 12th year the church has put on the event.
Organizers said some years they have 2,000 people come through the line others 200, but the purpose is always the same.
"That's what we basically do is serve," said Building Superintendent Dick Brown. "That's what we're supposed to do and we do that, so we try and do it well."
Volunteers help organize the items and cook food for the event. Others donate items and there are certain items they need more than others.
"The thing we're really short on is infant's clothing and young kids clothes," explained Brown. "Normally we have lots but that's where we're short right now and that's important because that's why we do this, so kids can get their clothes to get to school."
Those wanting to donate can drop items off anytime at the church on Brandywine Boulevard. The free stuff giveaway takes place Saturday at North Terrace beginning at 9 a.m. and running until 12 p.m.
No one will be allowed on the property to line up until 7:30 a.m.
All left over items will be donated to Goodwill.
