Z.A.A.P. August Artist

The Plein Air Group will be honored by the Z.A.A.P. Art Gallery and featured in the gallery for the entire month of August.

"Plein air means painting outside, being outside," said Susan Stubbins, VP of Z.A.A.P. Art Gallery. "And every two weeks, there have been a group of artists that have met and gotten together outside and painted.

The group meets every other Thursday spending their mornings painting and drawing around town and stopping by places like the Lorena, Mission Oaks and at the Pioneer Historical Society. Stubbins also wants to remind people that the Y-Bridge Arts Festival starts this weekend at Colony Square Mall and that the first Friday artwalk and festival kickoff starts Friday at 5 o'clock.

"The kickoff will be behind the Masonic Temple. There's gonna be music and food and beverage and lots of things. But it's important to know we will still be having our first friday artwalk and that there's going to be a lot going on downtown Friday night."

The Y-Bridge Arts Festival is open during mall hours both Saturday and Sunday.
