A cruise in car show that raises money for a good cause took place in Newark on Sunday.
The Alumni Association at C-TEC or the former Licking County Joint Vocational School, as some grads might remember it, held its annual car show for the fourth year. The event is the biggest fundraiser for the organization.
"We want to provide scholarships for C- TEC and help alumni with continuing education, so we are in the process right now of becoming a 501- C3 non profit organization, and from that we will give scholarships to a C- TEC senior and also help an alumni that has graduated from JVS or C-TEC, " said Alumni Association President, Tara Gordon.
To have your car displayed at the event it cost 10 dollars and all the proceeds went back to the alumni association. This year they had more than 90 cars that registered. Guests won a variety of plaques and trophies and Gordon believes the public has a positive response to the show.
" I think people enjoy it. The car show regulars enjoy just getting together and seeing one another and seeing each others vehicles, but they also know it's going on for a good cause," said Gordon.
At the show there was a burrito buggy for people to snack on and plenty of music for people to enjoy while scoping out all of the vintage and new rides.
