The Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Enterprise Products Partners and an organization that protects Blackhand Gorge agree to terms allowing a pipeline to pass over part of the property.

The agreement between ODNR and the Friends of Blackhand Gorge will allow the Appalachia to Texas Pipeline to cross the preserved land without causing harm to the property.

They also agreed to appropriate compensation for access to the land.

In exchange for pipeline access, Enterprise has agreed to pave the over four mile bike trail that runs through the gorge. The company will also complete bank stabilization projects in the area to ensure the bike path is protected.

The pipeline will run under the property to avoid surface disturbance.

The bike path paving project will take three weeks to complete and is scheduled for September. The path will be closed during repaving.
