There were a reported 48 break-ins last month alone.
According to the Zanesville Police Department, the break-ins span throughout the entire city. Captain Tony Coury says of the 48, there have been 10 break-ins to garages and out buildings, and 3 have been in the area of Taylor and Bell Streets.
Everything from lawn mowers to power tools have been stolen. Coury says the cause for the increase is most likely due to high drug usage in the area and the poor economy.
There are no suspects at the moment, but he's asking the community to "watch out for each other" and to report any suspicious activity.
