Genesis Healthcare Systems kicked off their 33rd annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament at the Zanesville Country Club on Friday.
"The proceeds are used to support different areas of healthcare in the hospital," said Executive Director of the Genesis Healthcare Foundation Paul McClelland. "This year's proceeds are going to support rehab. Particularly pediatric rehab."
On Friday, the players participated in an individual stable tournament, but for the next two days, they'll get to play with the pro's.
"On Saturday, everyone plays for a two-man best ball format. And then on Sunday, we have professionals from really, all over the eastern seaboard, primarily from Ohio, but we've had pro's come in from North Carolina, Virginia, Florida and they're paired up with an amateur team and they play as a team, but the professionals also play their own ball and there's a $10,000 professional purse."
McClelland said 144 golfers will be playing each day during the three day tournament
