The Muskingum County Commissioners met with the Muskingum County Treasurer to discuss monthly investments for the month of October.
County Treasurer, Carol Friel says that the county needed to make important time sensitive decisions regarding their investments.
"We have CDAR instruments that are maturing in October," said Friel. We needed to decide if we were going to keep them in place or move them into different investment tools and we are going to move some and keep some."
The county's investments mature at an average rate of 3.4 years, which Friel says is a good because it gives the county a chance to move investments into a better position in a shorter amount of time, if they are not doing well.
"They mature at certain times," said Friel. We try to keep the instruments not maturing at the same time because we want to continue to invest and make good money. "
Overall, Friel says that the monthly investment data from September to October looks to have stayed stable and steady.
