The general election takes place a little over a month from Tuesday. The benchmark means that voters can now begin to cast their absentee ballots.
Secretary of State Jon Husted says that Boards of Elections will also mail out absentee ballots to voters who have already requested them. All other voters have until Saturday, November 2 at noon to request an absentee ballot by mail. They may do so by contacting their county board of elections.
Voted ballots must be postmarked the day before Election Day and received no later than 10 days after the election. Absentee ballots may also be delivered in person to boards of elections no later than the close of the polls on Election Day.
The deadline to register to vote for the November 5 General Election is October 7, 2013.
