Two rival biddy league football teams duked it out for a good cause earlier today at Tri-Valley high school.
The Scotties and the Muskies played to help breast cancer patients at Sunday's game. All the money raised at the event will go towards the Genesis Cancer Relief Fund.
"It's an awesome feeling," said Cancer Survivor, Tasha Dunfee. I am a five year breast cancer survivor myself and its an awesome feeling, just to be able to give back to help out and bring awareness to a devastating disease that really affects a lot of people. "
There was a 50/50 raffle as well as pink themed items and food for sale , those proceeds will also go towards helping women with the disease cope with financial and psychological stress that breast cancer often brings.
" A lot of people don't have insurance to begin with and then extra cost come from breast prosthesis, wigs are an extra expense, you know you lose all of your hair and that's devastating to a woman," said Dunfee.
Organizers say they are unsure about how much money they will bring in this year, but say whatever they raise is a step in the right direction.
